‘I spy, Dodgeball, Soan sakhali (chains), Land and water, Langadi, Kabaddi etc. does these names sound familiar to you all. YES it’s the same we used to play in our childhood. Then as we reached our teen came the Cable TV, video games, computer games, later social networking sites were introduced such as WhatsApp, twitter, Facebook and so on the list continues till date. We lost touch with the games which use to actually refresh us and gave us a fit body, healthy mind and sound sleep.
About 2 weeks ago I saw children in our colony fighting, trying to play something but ended up with a fight. Near around 8.30 PM as I was surfing through various channels came up with a serial “Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma” and to my surprise the episode was a solution to the problem I saw few hours before. They came up with an idea to join the kids and teach them games they played. The very next day I got charged up with my new white and pink shoes and dressed right to face the situation. To the surprise of the children I gathered them all and started playing with them. You guys won’t believe it my experiment was a hit. Not only the kids but I involved moms and dads as well and we all ended up having loads of fun.
Then a new fight started and this time it was not kids but the elder all eager to play their childhood favorite game. We sorted out the situation by turns and divided games in days.
After such a long gap playing with these kids I remembered my old Thane society friends which I had left behind after marriage. In the night I took my gadgets and started searching my old pals on Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, and other social networking sites. I found many of my old friends and messaged them. I received replies with tears of happiness from my old pals. It was so fun connecting with them after a long time and discussing the old days.
At night I slept tight and the morning was fresh, a very unusual thing for me. I realized it was my evening games exercise which pepped me up not only physically but even with a new fresh mindset. In the evening there was a loud chaos outside my flat as kids were shouting “Aunty, aunty, aunty Prerna Aunty please come down its time to play. What are we going to play today”.
‘Problems might be big or small, do not get bogged down instead get up find a solution and you may come up with a solution for an unknown problem I did.’
